The International Association of Trichologists (IAT) is the central professional body worldwide in the field of trichology – the science of hair and scalp.
The organization was established approximately 50 years ago as a non-profit association, with the aim of developing, regulating, and advancing the profession of trichology at an international level.
The organization is responsible for training trichologists through recognized study and certification programs, currently operating in over 75 countries.

The chairperson of the organization’s board of directors is Karine Albachari, a certified trichologist from Israel. She was elected chairperson after many years as a member of the organization’s executive committee and made an extensive contribution to its activities. Karine Albachari was the first trichologist from Israel to join the organization, and today she serves as an important bridge between the international scientific community and professionals in Israel.
Under her tenure, broader opportunities have opened for professional collaborations with experts worldwide, including participation in conferences in the United States, Canada, Iceland, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates.
